Produktbeschreibung
This research seeks to examine the basis of the widely supported prediction that the resources of the Sundarbans has shrunk with the passage of time and one of the main reason of it is the dependency of people on the forest resources. Sundarbans, which had abundant forest resources, is inevitably drifting into a situation of super-crisis of forest resources nowadays. For the completion of this study two villages of Channdpai Forest Range, Joymonirgol and Katakhali, were selected. Between these two villages Joymonirgol is closer to the forest than the Katakhali according to their geographical position. From this study, it was observed that the people of those villages which are closer to the Sundarbans are more dependent than those villages that are comparatively far. People of Sundarbans used forest resources, as they have no other way to income for their livelihood. There should be the option of alternative job facilities. Since the people of the Sundarbans have the knowledge to save the forest resources for their own purposes, in these attempts should decrease the extensive dependency of the people on the resources of the Sundarbans.
